Biography
Evander Holyfield, born Atmore, Alabama in 1962 and raised in Atlanta, is the only fighter to be a 4-time world heavyweight champion. Originally a cruiserweight, he unified all three cruiserweight titles in 1988 (TKO 8 over Carlos De León) and immediately moved up. He took the heavyweight title from James 'Buster' Douglas in 1990, lost it to Riddick Bowe in their first fight (1992), and then went on a 30-year career of unification bouts: he beat Mike Tyson twice (TKO 11 in 1996 and DQ 3 in 1997 after Tyson bit his ear), drew with Lennox Lewis in their first bout (March 1999), and lost the rematch. Continued fighting until 2011 at age 48.
