Biography
Oleksandr Oleksandrovych Usyk, born Simferopol, Crimea, Ukrainian SSR in 1987, won super heavyweight gold for Ukraine at London 2012 and is one of two fighters in history (along with Evander Holyfield) to hold the undisputed cruiserweight and heavyweight titles. He unified the four cruiserweight belts in 2018 (TKO 8 over Murat Gassiev in the WBSS final) and unified the heavyweight belts in May 2024 by outpointing Tyson Fury — the first undisputed four-belt heavyweight in 25 years. Defended in the December 2024 rematch. Returned to Ukraine to serve as a territorial defence volunteer during the Russian invasion of 2022.
